4. Reporting relationship:

5. Duties:
Technician:
* Supervise the use of all electronic equipment at the DEC Site, including the computer laboratory.
* Maintain and calibrate DEC's equipment.
* Receive, test and install all equipment shipped to the local site from, or on behalf of the DEC.
* Conduct minor repairs on malfunctioning/non-functioning for end-user equipment.
* Provide instructional support for system users.
* Be available on Saturdays as on other weekdays to monitor scheduled teleconferencing sessions.
* Maintain inventory of all DEC equipment at the site and provide the DEC's Telecommunications Network Manager with this information on a timely basis or as and when requested.
* Respond to the University Centre in the case of technical emergency with the Teleconferencing Network.
Lab Assistant:
* Maintain and administer all computer-assisted instructional packages and applications software.
* Provide technical and instructional support to users of the computer lab.
* Function as the Local DEC Network Administrator.
* Provide technical support to the DEC's base of computer hardware.
* Maintain all systems and applications software as installed on all the machines.
